Steve Burrows - Chief Executive Officer


Steve entered the insurance industry at the age of 17, working initially for Sun Alliance, before moving on to Berry Birch and Noble Plc at age 23.  Steve was appointed director at the age of 25.  In December 1998, Steve formed Burrows, Keith & Associates Ltd, with certain of his colleagues. Burrows, Keith & Associates Ltd then became the BKG Group of Companies and ultimately part of the COBRA Group of companies in 2006.  COBRA was formed following a strategic alliance between BKG and Truman Lincoln Insurance Brokers Limited.  Steve has focused over his insurance career on marketing and new business within the general commercial Insurance industry.  For the past 10 years has carried out the role of chief executive officer and until recently was the chairman of COBRA.

John Lincoln - Managing Director


John Lincoln is Managing Director of COBRA Network and Executive Director of COBRA London Markets. John began his insurance career in Lloyd's in 1972 and stayed in the London Market for 14 years before moving into the provincial broking market. In 1991, John established Lincoln Insurance Services with fellow partner Mark Zandler and then in 1996 acquired the brokerage of Tilbury Steward, before merging with Truman Insurance Brokers in 2001 to form Truman Lincoln.  John became Managing Director of COBRA Network in 2003 and was given additional responsibility for COBRA London Markets in 2006.

Mark Peasey - Compliance Director


Mark has over 21 years experience of insurance broking gained from working with ‘High Street’, provincial and large international brokerages.  As a Director of BKG, Mark began to focus on the issues of regulation early in 2003 and was appointed as COBRA’s Compliance Director on June. Mark’s adopts a very practical approach to interpreting - rather than just reciting - the FSA Handbook.  Through personal contact with members, Mark provides a range of services that are well received, including compliance advice, internal audits, business process guides and documentation/templates that can be easily understood and used.

Hannah Poulton, ACA, Finance Director


Hannah qualified as a chartered accountant in 1999 before working as an auditor specialising in regulated companies. In 2001, Hannah moved to COBRA London Markets Limited, a former audit client, advancing to Finance Director in 2004.  Hannah was appointed as finance director of the COBRA Group on its formation in September 2005 and now sits on the board of all companies in the Group, together with the acquisition committee of COBRA Insurance Management, the Audit Committee, the Nomination Committee, the Remuneration Committee and the compliance committee of COBRA Insurance Management.
